Issues addressed: The Florida Film & Television Commission (FTC) strives to positively impact business tourism and the economy through the growth of the film, television and the still photography industry. Florida is offering industry leaders tax incentive to produce their projects in the Sunshine State and to take over the number two position in the nation by creating a venue for worldwide film and television production. Guest: Paul Sirmons is the Film & Television Commissioner for the Governor's Office of Film & Entertainment, which is responsible for the state's economic development program for the development and expansion of the motion picture and entertainment industry sectors. It’s role encompasses many activities, such as attracting and promoting film and video production in Florida, facilitating access to filming locations by eliminating bureaucratic "red-tape," serving as a liaison between the industry and government entities, and marketing the state as a world-class production center. Guest: Suzanne Niedland has been involved in the entertainment industry for most of her life, growing up in and around the theatre. She works as an independent producer in Palm Beach County, and focuses primarily on documentaries such as, Miss Lil’s Camp, a short documentary that was awarded a CINE Golden Eagle in the Spring of 2005. The museum has mentored many students who aspire for a career in film & TV through the guidance of professional instructors and Burt himself. Guest: Chuck Eldered, is the Palm Beach County Film & Television Commissioner. He works in unison with the Florida Governor's Office of Film and Entertainment, Film Florida, local municipalities and surrounding counties to assist with joint filming projects. He also represents Palm Beach County at industry sales missions, trade shows, conferences, and film festivals to spread the word of Palm Beach County’s diverse locations and visual appeal.
